October 4, 2006 will go down in Travis Barker's personal history as one of his more eventful. First, he gets word that his ex-wife Shanna Moakler and current gal-pal Paris Hilton got into a brawl at a Hollywood nightclub. Then, he gets word that the soreness in his arm is actually a broken bone, and he has to lay off the drums for at least eight weeks.
According to a post on the website of +44, the new band founded by Barker and fellow ex-blink-182 member Mark Hoppus, the drummer broke his arm while shooting the band's first video, "When Your Heart Stops Beating." The injury was then "exacerbated" when Barker went ahead and played through the pain during a seven-show promotional tour in Europe. We're assuming he didn't know the arm was actually broken, although Travis is just nutty enough that we suppose it's possible.
"Per doctors orders Travis is to remain off his right arm for 8 weeks," the website statement concludes.
Will Paris be there to tend to the sidelined drummer? We're sure the gossip rags will keep us posted.
